What kind of service does the Community Free Clinic provide?

LABWORK: Available with a Clinic Doctor/Provider order only.

 

MEDICATION CLINIC: Monday – Friday.  Appointments begin at 12:30 p.m.  Patients should arrive 15 minutes prior to their appointment time.  Nurses perform blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks, medication refills and pregnancy testing.  

 

DOCTOR/PROVIDER CLINIC: Monday - Friday.  Clinic Doctors and Providers administer primary care, specialty care, chronic care and medication monitoring.

 

GYN CLINIC: GYN Clinics are by appointment only.  GYN provides women’s health, PAP smears, breast exams, birth control measures and STD testing.

 

TEEN PREGNANCY/FAMILY PLANNING: Every Thursday of the month, 4:00 p.m. walk in, pregnancy prevention, STD testing.  Clinic open to male and female adolescents age 13-19.  No appointment necessary. Strictly confidential.  (Program funded by Washington County Community Partnership and Community Foundation of Washington County)

 

ORTHOPEDIC CLINIC: Available with a Clinic Doctor/Provider referral only.  Patients receive orthopedic care and follow-up.

 

MENTAL HEALTH CLINIC: Available with a Clinic Doctor/Provider referral only.  Patients receive mental health care and medication monitoring.

 

PODIATRY CLINIC: Every third Tuesday of the month.  Patients receive podiatry care and monitoring by referral only.

 

DIABETIC PROGRAM: Available through Clinic Doctor/Provider referral only.  Clinics are by appointment only.  This program includes monitoring, medication, smoking cessation and consultation with a nutritionist.

 

PEDIATRICS: Children 0-18 who are not enrolled in the Maryland Healthy Children’s Program.  Providers address acute children’s illnesses and provide childhood examinations and immunizations.

How Do I Become a Community Free Clinic Patient?

To be eligible for care at the Community Free Clinic you must not have any private or public health insurance and must live in Washington County.  If you meet these requirements you may schedule an appointment with clinic staff.

 

Please note:  All Clinics are scheduled appointments.  Clinic opening times are subject to change based on the availability of volunteer providers and staff.  Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time.

What is the Community Free Clinic?

The Community Free Clinic is unique in Maryland and indeed, nationally.  The Clinic was established in 1990 as a non-profit organization to provide medical care and prescription medication to those individuals in Hagerstown and Washington County who are uninsured and underinsured.  The Clinic is supported by our local community through individual donations, local businesses and foundations.  The Clinic currently serves over 15,000 patient visits annually. If you are in need of healthcare, the Community Free Clinic provides a variety of free services.  Our goal is a healthy Washington County.
